“Instead of responding with force, it is important that the authorities listen to the message of the protesters, in particular their demands for responsibility and the end of violent tactics by the police, especially in minority communities,” TASS quoted him as saying.
He noted that "he watched with concern the protests in cities across the United States and the sometimes violent police response."
“Excessive protection of demonstrations by law enforcement officers can only incite anger and lead to even greater violence and unrest,” Tsereteli noted.
