The dissident walker candidate for mayor of Paris said Monday that he would not form an alliance in the second round, neither with Anne Hidalgo, nor with Agnes Buzyn.

The ex-LREM candidate for mayor of Paris Cédric Villani assured that he would form "no alliance" in the second round of the municipal elections, neither with Anne Hidalgo nor with Agnes Buzyn. The mathematician by profession also indicated in an interview with the Parisian published Monday that he would remain "as an independent candidate" in the XIVth arrondissement.

"Floating" at Buzyn

"There will be no agreement of a global apparatus, no alliance with one or the other of the political parties which proposed it to me", adds the mathematician, who came fifth in the first round (7, 9%). He "did not feel sufficient guarantees" on the side of the socialist mayor Anne Hidalgo and deplores "a certain hesitation" in his rival LREM Agnès Buzyn.
