"On 2 June the anniversary of the birth of our Republic is celebrated. We will do it in an atmosphere where we experience feelings of uncertainty and reasons for hope at the same time. Squeezed between the pain of the tragedy that suddenly touched us and the will a new beginning. A new season, in which it is possible to get out of this sort of global nightmare as soon as possible ". This was said by President Sergio Mattarella on the occasion of the National Republic Day.

"This concert is dedicated to all the victims, to those who died alone, to the memory of the many broken affections, with the maestro Daniele Gatti and the orchestra of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, whom I thank for their participation" he said in occasion of the "Concert dedicated to coronavirus victims" on the 74th anniversary of the National Republic Day which takes place at the Quirinale.

A civil and economic rebirth is needed
"Alongside the pain of the losses and the suffering we experience, we feel, day after day, a growing desire for recovery and rebirth, civil and economic". This was underlined by President Sergio Mattarella on the occasion of the "Concert dedicated to coronavirus victims" on the 74th anniversary of the National Republic Day.

How parties overcome divisions in 1946
As at the birth of the Republic in 1946, "a new beginning is needed today. Overcoming divisions that had torn the country apart".
