Two doctors who independently performed the autopsy of George Floyd, the black American whose death during the Minneapolis police detention last week caused him protests across the country, said the cause of death was "mechanical suffocation" and that his death was a murder.

Dr. Michael Baden, one of two doctors who performed an autopsy at the request of the Floyd family, told a press conference in Minneapolis that Floyd was not suffering from any underlying medical problem that contributed to his death. Baden said Floyd's death was due to the pressure on the neck and back of two knees of two police officers.
