Jeanette Gavelin at Holmen in central Råneå has lived with the spring river and high water for ten years and she can now kayak on her site.

The family has made sure that the buildings near the water are on terminals so that they can withstand a flood.

- The closer you get to the highest peak on the spring river, the more you have to pull your stuff in the yard.

So far, she and her roommate have no major concerns, even if they are following developments closely.

And the rush of water from the rapids, that's what they're used to.

- The noise is always there, but it gets closer during this season. It's a habit and a bit like sleeping on a train. You almost sleep a little better when it roars and sounds around one, says Jeanette Gavelin.
