As of this Monday, June 1, the State is reducing its coverage of short-time working, and is calling on businesses. Put in place at the start of the containment, this system made it possible to avoid mass layoffs and the destruction of millions of jobs. But today, with the lifting of restrictive measures, the reopening of educational establishments, short-time working is no longer necessary for employees whose sectors of activity are leaving. The State amends the rules of partial unemployment and introduces aid for reduced activity. What changes for employees and for companies.

Employers now have to pay 15% of their employees' partial unemployment. The remaining 85% is funded by the State, which previously provided all of it. No change on the pay slip, the amount of the compensation remains at least 70% of gross salary.

From June 2 partial unemployment for childcare will only be possible for parents whose children will not be admitted to school for health reasons, provided they provide a school certificate.

Another novelty is the specific partial unemployment scheme. It allows the employer to reduce the working time and the remuneration of the employees subject to an agreement between the management and the social partners and the total maintenance of employment thanks to financial aid from the State.

With this device, disaster sectors such as the automobile or aeronautics will be able to adjust their production capacity according to demand.

According to the executive, these measures are taken "  to support the revival of economic activity in sectors which are no longer subject to a ban on recovery  ".

On the other hand, those who do not yet have the green light to resume their activity on June 1 continue to benefit from full coverage of short-time working by the State. This is the case for the tourism, catering and cultural sectors.
