Xinhua News Agency, New Delhi, May 30 (Reporter Zhao Xu) The Indian Ministry of the Interior announced on the 30th that it would extend the national blockade measures under implementation for another month, until June 30.

The Indian Ministry of the Interior issued an order that evening, India will enter the next stage of the national blockade from June 1 to June 30, during which international commercial flights will not be resumed temporarily, and a nationwide curfew will be imposed every night from 9:00 to 5:00 the next day.

According to the guidelines on the blockade period in the order, the new stage of blockade will distinguish between strictly controlled areas and non-strictly controlled areas. Strictly controlled areas continue to maintain a strict blockade, and still only allow basic people's livelihood security industry operations. Non-strictly controlled areas will allow people and vehicles in the area and trucks across the area to pass freely from June 1st; from June 8th, religious venues, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls will be allowed while maintaining social distances open.

To curb the spread of the epidemic, India began a national blockade on March 25 and extended it three times until it ended on May 31. However, the blockade of more than two months has not effectively controlled the epidemic, and the number of confirmed cases in India has accelerated since May. According to the data released by the Ministry of Health on the 30th, as of 8 a.m., there were 7964 newly confirmed cases in the country, with a total of 173763 confirmed cases, including 4971 deaths and 82370 cured cases.
