The intake is stopped on Vik's aesthetic courses: "A complex question"

“One is the need to contribute to the county's recovery and provision of skills in connection with the great stress we experience in connection with the corona pandemic. The second has to do with the lack of work environment for several years at parts of the Wik Folk High School, where we believe the school needs a restart, ” says Cecilia Linder (M) in a press release from Region Uppsala.

The cultural committee also decided - in addition to the intake stop - to assign acting cultural director Charlotte Åstrand the task of reviewing and remedying the working environment problems at Vik's folk high school.

- It is now about creating good conditions for the principal, employees and participants. It is a complex issue, it has been a poor working environment for many years. On the one hand, there is a need for clarity in terms of roles and responsibilities for management and employees and on the other hand, there are a lot of administrative procedures that need to be in place, says Charlotte Åstrand and tells about the problems:

- There has been friction between employees and management. There have been various images of employees and management of how a folk high school under the auspices of the region should be run.

Charlotte Åstrand is responsible for the work and will work with the headmaster at Vik's folk high school.
