Firefighters have gone to the Vistahermosa shopping center, in Alicante , this Saturday morning to remove a swarm of more than 3,000 bees in a building materials store, which has had to be evacuated, as reported by the City Council in a statement.

Firefighters of the Service of Prevention, Extinction of Fires and Salvage (SPEIS) have received the emergency around 11 am and have mobilized a crew with six troops to intervene in the place.

The bees had the swarm installed in a store located on Avenida Antonio Ramos Carratalá. Specifically, in a building material acoustic absorber plate located in an area attached to the store.

Firefighters have secured the area first and evacuated clients. Afterwards, two troops protected with a special suit for these interventions and gloves have safely removed the bees.

Bees, on the sound absorbing plate.

These are swarms that land in different places when the queen bee moves, and pheromones that are deposited in a box are used to remove them. In this way, the queen is allowed to leave and all the others follow, to be able to move them and for the beekeeper to take charge of them, since they are protected.

The removal of the swarm lasted about an hour and the intervention was carried out safely, managing to move the bees properly without suffering any damage.
