Usually around 130 students usually gather for a joint ending with celebrations in the Torsberg Gymnasium's hall before rushing out to hug their relatives who make up the sea of people outside. But because of the corona virus, larger crowds are not allowed.

Runs to waiting cars

Therefore, a new solution has been presented by the Torsberg Gymnasium's school management and the student and ball committees, the idea is that all parts of the closing take place in class rather than in common. In short, it is about the students getting their celebration in the hall but that it happens with one class at a time. Then the students in each class run out to their loved ones who wait in ornate and honing cars on the lawn next to the hall.

- After all, it feels good that we get some spectators when we run out because that's what we've been looking forward to the most, says Julia Ekström, last year student and chair of the student and ball committee.

Tradition in uncertain times

In this way, the hope is that a hug will be avoided and that the recommendations of the Public Health Authority should be respected while the students are allowed to run out and meet their relatives in a somewhat traditional way.

How is it for the students who have no relatives by car?

"Of course, they will be met by their relatives as well," says Thomas Kanth, rector of Torsberg Gymnasium.

The final-year students at Torsberg Gymnasium take the student on Friday, June 12.
