Prime Minister Édouard Philippe presented on Friday "a mechanism for offsetting tax and state revenues" from local authorities up to "around 750 million euros". It should concern between 12,000 and 14,000 municipalities. 

Prime Minister Édouard Philippe presented on Friday "a mechanism for compensating tax and state revenues" of communities up to "approximately 750 million euros" which must concern between 12 and 14,000 municipalities. The objective: to compensate for the losses linked to the Covid-19. 

The head of government also indicated that he would endow "an additional billion euros" with funds to support the "green" investments of the municipalities, after a meeting with representatives of associations of mayors in Matignon.
