The mine has been closed since March, but has now definitely closed until the turn of the year. The worst possible scenario is that it will not open at all according to CEO Jennie Hesslöw.

- The ambition is that we will open the business again, but theoretically there is a possibility that this will be so long lasting that it is not possible to survive, she says.

Scheduled plans

The plans for new ventures for the business were in full swing before the corona eruption and the goal was to double the number of visitors to the mine. But they have now been pushed for a possible future.

The municipality is concerned about continuation

The largest owners are Sala municipality, where Anders Wigelsbo (C) is a municipal council. According to him, the plans for a reopening have been agreed but he does not know how it will go.

- But we are very keen on whether Sala's silver mine should remain, he says.
