Admission in September “Latest introduction difficult” LDP “Should not be considered promptly” Komei May 30 5:38

Regarding the "September admission", the LDP generally accepted the proposal that the latest introduction such as this year and next year is difficult. The Komeito will also put together a proposal that they should not proceed with the examination promptly, and will apply to the government next week.

The Liberal Democratic Party's work team, which had been considering admission in September, broadly accepted the proposal on the 29th. According to the proposal, it is difficult to introduce the latest system like this year and next year because it requires a national agreement and a certain period of time for a wide range of institutional reforms.

On the other hand, in order to guarantee children's learning opportunities, they are calling for consideration of special measures to extend the current period until March next year for a certain period.

The Komei Party's work team also summarized the recommendations and said, "Introducing from the next fiscal year will cause disadvantages and costs that greatly exceed the merits" and "should not proceed promptly".

On top of that, we are requesting that schools be safely restarted, the content of education be prioritized and compressed, and that the schedule for college entrance exams for next year be urgently determined in order to secure the preparation period for examinees.

The LDP and Komeito parties will propose proposals to the government next week.
