The Italian Football League confirmed on Friday that the Serie A championship, interrupted on March 9 by the coronavirus epidemic, would resume on the weekend of June 20 and 21.

Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora on Thursday gave the government's approval to return to the pitch on June 20.

"The clubs welcomed the authorization given yesterday by Minister Spadafora to resume Serie A and voted unanimously for the organization of the four late matches of the 25th day during the weekend of the 20 and June 21, "wrote the League in a statement.

The four matches in question are Atalanta Bergamo-Sassuolo, Hellas Verona-Cagliari, Inter Milan-Sampdoria Genoa and Torino-Parma.

The League adds that from Monday, June 22, will be scheduled the matches of the 27th day.

As also announced on Thursday the Minister of Sports, the resumption of the championship should be preceded by that of the Italian Cup.

The League writes that the final will be held on June 17. It does not specify when the return semi-finals will be scheduled (Naples-Inter Milan and Juventus-AC Milan) but they could be played on June 13 and 14.
