The Bayer Leverkusen, slapped at home three days ago, rectified the shooting in Freiburg (1-0), Friday at the opening of the 29th day of the German Championship, and regains the Champions League zone by temporarily climbing to 3rd place.

Operation successful rebound for the Bayer, after the slap received against Wolfsburg at home Tuesday (4-1), which had ended a series of 11 victories and a draw in all competitions.

Lerverkusen slid onto the podium one point behind 2nd, Dortmund, who moved to Paderborn on Sunday. But Leipzig, 4th at a length from the Bayer, could recover if it succeeds in Cologne on Monday.

Peter Bosz's team can still say thank you to Kai Havertz, the author of his 5th goal since the resumption behind closed doors on May 16. Its 11th since the start of the season.

After a first period of sterile domination against the 8th Bundesliga, the German attacking midfielder released his team by kicking the ball between the legs of Freiburg goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow (54th).

A short-lived joy for the young 20-year-old international, visibly touched and released as a precaution a few minutes later, for the benefit of Moussa Diaby.

The former Parisian had been left on the bench at kick-off by Bosz, like other holders like Kerem Demirbay and Karim Bellarabi, spared by the Dutch coach in the face of the sequence of matches.

Also on the bench: Kevin Volland. But for the German striker, it was an almost unexpected return. His serious left ankle injury in February should have left him out until the end of the season without delay for several weeks.

After this short but precious success in Freiburg, it's a shock against the leader, Bayern Munich, who awaits Volland's teammates, Saturday June 6 at BayArena.
