The corona effect on the voters' sympathies seems to last. Now in May, the Social Democrats, at 31.5 percent, are the largest party with a good margin.

- The trend from the previous month continues. After all, the Social Democrats have won a lot of confidence among voters during the corona pandemic. The biggest loser is the Sweden Democrats. We now have a new situation where the Moderates and the Swedish Democrats are about the same size, which we are not used to seeing lately, says Torbjörn Sjöström, CEO of Novus.

SD down in third place

Compared to last month's measurement, all changes are within the margin of error. But compared to February, before the virus took over, the differences are clear. At that time, the Swedish Democrats were the largest with 23.9 percent of voter support. Now they are down in third place with 18 percent.

During the same period, the Social Democrats have risen from 23.2 percent in February to 31.5 percent in May. The Center Party has been completely silent, it remains at 8.1 percent while the Moderates receive 19.2 percent of voter support.

The Liberals under the block

The Liberals are still having a hard time and are still well below the four per cent barrier. During the period that the investigation was conducted, the Liberals have been accused of lobbying great power in the party but it does not appear to have affected public opinion, the decline came earlier.

- Yes, they have a hard time in public opinion. This is a marginal difference compared to last month and it is well up to the four per cent barrier, says Torbjörn Sjöström.
