In February this year, the municipality of Sala decided that several risk trees along the dams along the green corridor in Sala would be felled. The decision wanted to secure Sala's water system and dams. The trees were seen to pose a safety risk and cause damages.

Two months later at the municipal council meeting on April 1, Sala decided that the felling would be stopped immediately. This is to investigate the felling and develop an action plan to find out which trees are to be protected.

According to that report, it was not possible to determine which trees were to be felled and which were a risk. The county administrative board has now instructed the municipality to continue harvesting as soon as possible.

On May 25, harvesting of the trees will resume.
