The Community Development Authority in Dubai distributed gifts to senior citizens at the doors of their homes instead of offering them to them during the festive and entertaining gathering that is used to hold them annually to congratulate them on the Eid, in order to ensure their safety, which requires not to leave the homes or receive congratulations for the Eid inside their homes, whether from relatives or from The working teams of the authority, in implementation of the preventive measures applied to combat the spread of the Corona virus.

The Executive Director of the Development and Social Welfare Sector of the Community Development Authority, Hariz Al-Murr Bin Hariz, told "Emirates Today", that the current conditions that require strict adherence to the preventive measures require the cancellation of all events and celebrations that the authority used to hold annually to celebrate senior citizens on various occasions, whether at the club’s headquarters Social replete or by organizing external activities.

He continued that commitment to preventive measures limited the congratulations of senior citizens during this year to presenting gifts at the doors of their homes, which was distributed by the team of volunteers working in the "We communicate and protect" campaign, to all senior citizens registered with the "Thakhr" card and the Lev Home Care Program.

During the past weeks, the authority has intensified its efforts to protect and ensure the safety of senior citizens and health and psychological residents by implementing more training and awareness sessions to prevent senior citizens or their families from any wrong practices during the Eid period.

The Commission calls upon members of society of all age groups to refrain from wrong practices and social customs that constitute in the current period an essential factor in the transmission of the virus such as visits and family gatherings.
