- Anyone planning excursions, trips to country places or long-weekend trips in the archipelago are urged not to go collectively, says Fredrik Cavalli-Björkman, traffic director at SL and Waxholmsbolaget, in a press release.

SL has put in extra tours with the Waxholmsboats during the weekend, but the risk is that it will be full and that people will stay on the dock. It is the crew on board who decide when the boat is full so many people risk not getting a seat.

Concern about contagion on the islands

The call is based on the fear that people will fall ill on the islands. Because then you stay there and are not allowed to board the boats.

- If you fall ill in the archipelago, you must not go even if there is space, says Fredrik Cavalli-Björkman.

Traveling tends to increase

According to SL, the Stockholmers have been good at following their call to avoid public transport in order to reduce the risk of contagion, but now they see that travel is increasing again which is worrying.

- We see that travel tends to increase. Therefore, anyone planning excursions, trips to country places or long-weekend trips in the archipelago are urged not to go public.
