US imposes sanctions on officials from Nicaragua

It is noted that restrictions were imposed against the Minister of Finance of Nicaragua, Ivan Adolfo Acosta Montalvan and the commander of the Armed Forces of the country, Julio Cesar Aviles Castillo.

“The US Department of the Treasury’s Foreign Asset Control Office (OFAC) lists San Nicaragua’s two government officials, Julio Cesar Aviles Castillo and Ivan Adolfo Acosta Montalvan, for supporting the corrupt (Daniel) Ortega regime,” the statement said.

Earlier, the United States imposed sanctions against nine Iranian citizens and three organizations associated with law enforcement and the country's penal system.
