Some European countries have embarked on adopting plans to reduce quarantine measures and closure measures, some of their economic damage as a result of the spread of the new Corona epidemic, while injuries in Africa exceeded one hundred thousand amid fears of the inability to contain the disease.

The epidemic has claimed at least 33,8,870 people in the world since its appearance in China in December, according to an AFP tally based on official sources on Friday. More than 5 million 109 109 and 296 injuries were recorded in 196 countries and regions.

The United States is the country most affected by registering 94,729 deaths out of a million and 577 thousand and 758 injuries, followed by the United Kingdom (36042), Italy (32486), France (28215) and Spain (27940).

Despite this, European countries are beginning to ease the procedures for the closure, as Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva revealed Friday that Portugal's doors are open to tourists, to be among the first European countries to welcome the return of tourists from other countries on the continent.

"Welcome to tourists in Portugal," Santos Silva told the Observador, noting that some medical checks will be carried out at airports, but there will be no compulsory quarantine for arrivals.

Portugal, which has recorded 30,200 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 1,289 deaths, is slowly relaxing general isolation restrictions in effect since mid-March.

In Cyprus, Transport Minister Yannis Karoussos announced that the Mediterranean island will partially reopen its airports for commercial (civil) flights as of June 9, after nearly three months of closure.

A quarantine for travelers
will allow, in the first stage, travelers from about 20 countries to enter the small European Union member state.

But the list of countries is devoid of Britain and Russia, which are the largest tourist markets for the island, knowing that the British make up a third of the arrivals to Cyprus.

After the cabinet session during which the plan was approved, the minister revealed that the second stage will start on June 20, and in the first stage, the arrivals will have to produce a statement proving that they are not infected with Corona virus no more than 72 hours after their arrival on the island.

Residents of Cyprus can be examined upon arrival on the island and will have to remain in a house quarantine pending the results, according to the Minister.

From June 20, arrivals will become Category A countries, a list of 13 countries that includes Greece, Germany, Malta, and others, in a solution to show a health statement proving that they have not suffered from Covid-19.

However, it will be compulsory for expatriates from Category B countries, which include six countries, including Switzerland and Poland, to submit a statement proving that they are not infected with the virus.

In Britain, Home Secretary Priti Patel said Friday that Britain will apply the quarantine for 14 days to almost all travelers from other countries, with effect from

June 8th, with a fine of 1,000 pounds ($ 1,218) for violators.

The government said there would be some exceptions, including road and freight transport workers, medical professionals traveling to help fight the emerging corona virus and those coming from Ireland.

"We have now passed the peak of this virus," Patel said at the government's daily press conference. "We must take steps to protect against cases from abroad that are causing the return of the deadly disease."

Infections in Africa and
on the continent, more than 100,000 cases of new Coronavirus have been officially registered in Africa, a symbolic threshold but only part of the reality due to the inability to conduct tests in a large number of countries.

Africa remains the least affected by the epidemic after Oceania (8,440 cases, 129 deaths), and it is far from the numbers in Europe (1,974,501 cases, 171,011 deaths) and the United States (1,577,558 cases, 9,6978 deaths).

The countries most affected in Africa by number of deaths are Egypt (696 deaths out of 1,5003 injuries), Algeria (575 deaths, 7,728 injuries), South Africa (369 deaths, 19,137 injuries), Nigeria (211 deaths, 7016 injuries) and Morocco (196 deaths, 7,211 injuries). These five countries report over half of the continent's injuries.

In Egypt, the Ministry of Health and Population in Egypt announced on Friday that it had recorded 783 new cases of coronavirus, the highest daily increase since the outbreak began and 11 deaths.

Ministry spokesman Khaled Mujahid said that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the Corona virus is 15,786 cases, of whom 4,347 cases were cured and discharged from isolation and quarantine hospitals, and 707 deaths.

Mujahid added that all recorded cases of HIV positive in isolation and quarantine hospitals are subject to medical care, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization.

Egypt has been implementing general isolation measures since March, which include the closure of schools, universities, sports clubs, cafes and places of large gatherings, and imposes a partial curfew.
