Consequence of confinement: the winner at the Euromillions of the pretty sum of 17 million euros, on March 20, had to wait more than two months before being able to claim his check. To be sure not to lose his ticket, he had carefully slipped it into the shell of his cell phone.

The Euromillions winner had to hide his ticket during confinement. After winning 17 million euros on March 20, the lucky winner could not, due to the coronavirus epidemic and the health rules in place, cash his (very) big check right away. He had to keep - preciously - with him for the duration of the confinement his ticket ... an endless wait of 50 days!

"He awaited the day of payment with a lot of philosophy"

"He did not leave his ticket, since he was in the shell of his smartphone that he had day and night with him," said Isabelle Césari, manager of the "winning relations" department at La Française des Jeux. "The game receipt was folded in half, slipped into a small white paper. For him, it was a very safe hiding place."
