May 22, 2020 Ahmed al Mismari, spokesman for the self-proclaimed Libyan national army (LNA), led by General Khalifa Haftar, announced on his Facebook page that they had been restored by LNA air force technicians and four fighter fighters put back into operation, after a long period of inactivity. The planes will be used in the battle against the Tripoli government.

Saqr al-Jaroushi, head of the LNA air force, yesterday announced the launch "of the largest air campaign in the history of Libya, to target Turkish interests and Tripoli government forces in all Libyan cities. " 

And also yesterday at least eight of the Soviet era jet (6 MiG 29 and Sukhoi 24 fighter-2) would arrive in the East of the country, a Syrian base controlled by Russia, escorted 'by two SU-35 Russian Air Force " likely to support the attack.

The Italian Council of Ministers approved the continuation of the missions last night, including the European one Irini, aimed at impeding the entry of weapons into Libya.
