The United States will withdraw from the Air Liberalization Treaty, one of the disarmament treaties, Secretary of State Pompeo said.

The Air Liberalization Treaty is a treaty signed by 34 countries, including the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, and France, and the key is to allow mutually free and unarmed aerial reconnaissance to monitor the status of military forces and military activities of the member states.

Pompeo says Russia is leaving because it is violating the treaty, not allowing it to fly south of Moscow.
