“The comment of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ... is another attempt by Russia to intervene in the internal affairs of Ukraine ... to split the Ukrainian society,” the statement of the Ukrainian ministry said.

In Kiev, they called Moscow’s “misinformation” a statement about Ukraine pursuing a Russophobic policy and escalating tensions in bilateral relations.

They also called on Russia to switch to "constructive cooperation" on the issue of Crimea and Donbass.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that with the advent of Zelensky to power, the line of Kiev to confrontation with Moscow has not changed, and "Russophobia gets a new breath in Ukraine."

Zelensky said during a press conference that he raised the issue of Crimea at the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but noted that Russia does not want to discuss this.

Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014, in which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
