A month ago, during the inspection in Shaanxi, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited the Nuwa Phoenix Tea Modern Demonstration Park in Pingli County, and encouraged the villagers to “get rich by tea and develop business by tea”.

On May 21, the first "International Tea Day" determined by the United Nations arrived. President Xi Jinping sent a letter to the "International Tea Day" series of activities to express his warm congratulations.

Tea originated in China and is popular in the world. From the ancient Silk Road, the ancient Tea Horse Road, and the ancient Tea Ship Road, to today's Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, tea travels through history and across national borders, and is loved by people all over the world. At present, there are more than 60 tea-producing countries and regions in the world, and the tea drinking population exceeds 2 billion.

The way of tea reflects the way China and the world get along. The following three stories tell us how Chairman Xi Jinping used tea to meet friends and share friendship.

Story① East Lake Tasting

Time: April 28, 2018

Location: Wuhan, Hubei

In the spring of two years ago, President Xi Jinping held an informal meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi in Wuhan, creating a new model of exchanges between Chinese and Indian leaders and turning a new page in Sino-Indian relations.

In the East Lake in April, spring mountains are like dais, and smoke is like the sea. The leaders of the two countries exchanged views on Sino-Indian relations and major international issues of common interest in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

According to reports, the two leaders produced two types of tea from Hubei, one is Lichuan black tea and the other is Enshi Yulu. President Xi Jinping talked about the cooperation between a tea in Yichang, Hubei and India.

Both are ancient civilizations and are important neighbors of each other. On the road of development and revitalization, China and India face similar tasks. During the meeting, President Xi Jinping pointed out that it is necessary to strategically grasp Sino-Indian relations, continuously enhance mutual understanding and trust, and promote mutual understanding and nurturing friendly feelings between the two circles and peoples of the two countries, which has received a positive response from Prime Minister Modi.

A year and a half later, Prime Minister Modi kindly invited President Xi Jinping to India to attend the second informal meeting of Chinese and Indian leaders, carefully selected the historical and cultural city of Chennai as the meeting place and personally arranged arrangements, and President Xi Jinping arrived as scheduled.

From the bank of the Yangtze River to the edge of the Indian Ocean, from the Wuhan meeting to Chennai's discussion, the leaders of the two countries walked in a walk and talked about the world, guiding the development of Sino-Indian relations.

Story ② Winter Tea Story

Time: January 12, 2017

Venue: Beijing Great Hall of the People

At the beginning of the New Year 2017, General Secretary Ruan Fuzhong of the Communist Party of China visited China and became the first VIP of the party that General Secretary Xi Jinping welcomed that year. China was also the first country visited by Ruan Fuzhong in the New Year.

Special arrangements, special friendships. On the afternoon of the same day, the two leaders came to the Four Seasons Hall of Macao to talk about the tea culture common to China and Vietnam and to discuss the future of relations between the two parties and two countries.

"The word" tea "is disassembled, it means 'people are in the grass and trees'." General Secretary Xi Jinping's wonderful solution explains the true meaning of "Dao law and nature" in Chinese culture.

From reminiscing the traditional friendship between the peoples of the two countries, to exploring adherence to the leadership of the Communist Party and the construction of the socialist road, and then to looking forward to how the two countries inject momentum into the prosperity and development of the Asia-Pacific region and the world.

"Today, Comrade General Secretary and I talked about tea and exchanged ideas. Let us consolidate and develop Sino-Vietnamese relations." General Secretary Xi Jinping said. General Secretary Ruan Fuzhong frequently nodded his approval.

General Secretary Xi Jinping also presented General Secretary Ruan Fuzhong with a copy of Chairman Hu Zhiming's 1942 handwritten Chinese poem "Walking", expressing his hope for the two countries to go forward hand in hand and win-win cooperation.

Ten months later, President Xi Jinping went to Vietnam to attend the APEC leaders ’informal meeting and paid a state visit. In the former residence of Chairman Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi, Nguyen Phuoc took out the best Vietnamese tea and coffee to entertain the most distinguished guests. The leaders of the two countries exchanged courtesy, leaving another good story for China-Vietnam friendship.

Story ③ Civilized Dialogue of "Tea and Wine"

Time: April 1, 2014

Location: Bruges, Belgium

China is an important representative of Eastern civilization, and Europe is the birthplace of Western civilization. In the spring of 2014, President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the European Academy in Bruges, Belgium, using tea and wine as metaphors to talk about two different ways to taste life and interpret the world from the east and the west.

"Just as the Chinese love tea and the Belgians love beer, the implicit restraint of tea and the enthusiasm of wine represent two different ways to taste life and interpret the world. However, tea and wine are not incompatible. A confidant who has less than a thousand cups can also taste tea and taste life. "

The fragrance of tea is timeless and implies the inner show of the East; the aroma of wine is overflowing, which coincides with the warmth of the West. The dialogue between tea and wine is more tacit because of exchanges and mutual learning, and more harmonious because of the common people.

The three short stories are just a microcosm of Chairman Xi Jinping ’s tea gathering. At that time, British Prime Minister Theresa May, Swiss Federal President Leuthard, Mongolian President Eleberg Durgi ... President Xi Jinping's list of "international tea friends" is still very long.

There is a sense of tea, fragrant tea, and a cup of tea exudes the friendship of exchange and mutual learning, the more brewed, the more mellow.
