While the airline Easyjet announced the return of some of its flights in mid-June, some European countries have already shown their willingness to welcome tourists for the summer period. Suspended by the evolution of the pandemic, the hope of traveling this summer outside our borders is therefore allowed.

The hope of flying to other skies this summer is allowed, Easyjet announced this Thursday the resumption of some of its flights, mainly in France and the United Kingdom, on June 15. A decision that is part of the gradual plan to return to the skies of the International Air Transport Association (Iata), which indicated Wednesday at the microphone of Europe 1 a return of national flights in June, continental from July and intercontinental for the last quarter of 2020.

Traveling within the Schengen area?

If the Prime Minister, Édouard Philippe, indicated a week ago that the summer holidays would be Franco-French, the airlines are therefore organizing to allow them to cross certain borders, confining themselves for the time to the Schengen area. But European countries are also restarting the tourist machine, like Italy, which has already announced the reopening of all airports in the country from June 3. For its part, Greece, where tourism is also vital for the economy, intends to welcome international flights from July 1.

However, the Greek borders will be opened on the list: only twenty countries will be authorized to send their nationals there. If it remains to be defined, we can hope that the weight of the Hexagon in Greek tourism allows the French to get there. However, this scenario depends on the evolution of the European health situation and, as far as we are concerned, on the final decision of the French government which must be taken around June 15th.

If it finally confirms a "hexagonal" vacation, it will always be possible to be reassured, since according to the anthropologist specialist in mobility and tourism, Jean-Didier Urbain, "that will not change much" to our "joys" summer ".
