January 10, 2017 Volkswagen has confirmed it has "advanced negotiations" with the US Department of Justice in order to reach a plea bargain on the emissions scandal that exploded in the US last year.This was announced by the German group which confirmed the rumors that it had negotiated a draft settlement with the US authorities for a total value of 4.3 billion dollars as well as measures to further strengthen compliance and the appointment of an independent figure to the next three years.
