It is about an old railway bridge and an old car bridge that is being demolished to improve road safety. Pillars and foundations stand near the E6 roadway. Demolition work will begin at 8pm on Wednesday, May 20.

- The demolition work will continue during the night as we cut down the bridges with excavators, says Max Arvidsson, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

The explanations for the delay in implementing the decision are several. The two bridges were quickly replaced and the matter of removing them was therefore not a high priority. However, the situation has changed in recent years, says Max Arvidsson.

- Attempts are being made to remove bridge pillars that are too close to highways throughout the country. This has again become a priority. But there have been some difficulties in finding a contractor who can tear them down, he says.

The traffic on the route will be redirected throughout the weekend.

In the clip you will find out more, including how the traffic is redirected during the four days of work.
