- These are museums that will offer most of the business outdoors this summer and exhibitions adapted to fewer participants. We also see restaurants that come with different options for take away, grocery bags and pop-up solutions to take part in the outdoors and various offers to local target groups from our hotels, ”says Helena Bovin, marketing manager at the municipal company Destination Uppsala.

The government's new recommendations, which came last week, mean that domestic journeys corresponding to one to two hours by car from the place of residence can be carried out under certain conditions and with great caution.

- Two hours' journey from Uppsala, there are nearly three million people living, so we have good conditions to get some of them to visit Uppsala.

"Important that not everyone builds balconies"

Helena Bouvin hopes that many will be a tourist in their own city, provided the authorities follow the recommendations.

- We need holidays and we need to treat ourselves to change the environment and relax. Therefore, it is important for our industry that we not only stay at home and renovate bathrooms and build balconies, but that we come out and experience and discover just as we otherwise do on our holiday when we are used to traveling further afield.
