According to reports, these parliamentarians joined the new political party called "Ecological Democratic Solidarity" (EDS) after leaving the party, and the party also included several former supporters of Macron. The new political party hopes to promote environmental protection policies, reform the political system and reduce social injustice, saying that it will adopt an independent route and will not form alliances with the government or the opposition.
After these parliamentarians withdrew from the party, the Progressive Party of the Republic had only 288 seats in the National Assembly, with only 288 seats left.
Analysts believe that Macron ’s term of office will not expire until 2022. To pass the bill, he will need to rely on 46 allies of the MoDem party.
