- The flowers are very badly affected by the frost. There will be no strawberries developed from this flower that is completely black, says Lennart Fröberg, pointing to a damaged flower.

Lennart runs agriculture in Ugglekull just north of Urshult in southern Småland. Here the climate is favorable for growing fruit and berries. But this year, several nights of frost during the delicate flowering have been negatively affected.

The harvest of strawberries and lettuce is at risk

Even the occasional rather windy weather has negatively affected the crops. Both strawberries and salad have been hampered. However, Lennart Fröberg has been well prepared.

- We have left the cultural fabric for much longer this year. Then you have to be prepared to apply it if there is a risk of frost again. The other evening SMHI went out with a warning that it could be frost and then we went out late in the evening and put on the fabric. At that particular moment, it turned out that the frost had failed and that SMHI had been wrong.
