An Iranian legislator revealed today, Wednesday, that his country spent between 20 billion and 30 billion dollars in Syria, to support Damascus and fight the Islamic State "ISIS".

In a video interview with the Iranian "Etemad" website, Heshmatullah Flahat Bishah, an outgoing parliament member who was a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said that Iran should get this money back from Syria.

By comparison, during the past year, the entire Iranian defense budget amounted to about 700 trillion riyals ($ 16.6 billion), according to Bloomberg.

This is not the first time that Bishah’s cultivation repeated such statements, as he mentioned in 2018, when he was chairman of the committee, that “Iran's assistance to Syria is a people's right, and it must be settled in the relationship between Tehran and Damascus.”
