Participants in a virtual seminar organized by the Dubai Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), titled: “The Role of Security in Response to Corona Virus”, confirmed that sterilization gates, used by health and commercial institutions, to reduce the incidence of the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) ), Useless.

They recommended that thermal cameras be installed in various facilities, commercial centers and installations, to sense the temperatures of their pioneers, as a primary means of monitoring, and not to cause harm.

In detail, the director of the Center for Security Systems Accreditation, the head of the Sera Security Professionals Association, Eng. Khaled Al Hammadi, said that the session dealt with the role of thermal cameras in the initial monitoring of symptoms of Corona virus, the usefulness of sterilization gates, and the procedures that must be adhered to from the departments of commercial centers and hotels .

He stressed the need to use the thermal camera, as a reliable tool, thanks to the initial information it provides, which may help to discover injuries, as well as being safe, compared to the sterilization pathways.

The Foundation's director of security engineering, Eng. Aref Al-Janahi, said that installing thermal cameras is not mandatory. But it is recommended by the Foundation as a primary precaution for temperature sensing, as a symptom of the virus.

He added that "it is necessary to purchase certified and conforming cameras", pointing out that "there are many types of markets that do not meet specifications, and are cheap in comparison to the approved types, and give results far from reality." And it causes confusion if a person is stopped after suspecting his temperature, so it is a waste of time and money.

And he continued that «thermal cameras are important for major facilities, such as shopping centers. As for small centers, they can use calibrated temperature measuring instruments to ensure accuracy. ”

Al-Janahi stressed the difficulty of controlling the number of visitors to major shopping centers, proposing to reduce the number of outlets used and monitoring the number of visitors through parking lots.

Paul Tenet, director of the "Think Tech" Consulting and Training Center in Britain, said that many facilities started relying on thermal cameras, as a primary line of defense to monitor the symptoms of people with coronavirus, such as airports, hotels, stadiums and hospitals, pointing out that they monitor body temperature through the corner The procedure in the eye and the human front. It must be installed in a specific technical manner to produce accurate results.

The director of the Security Systems and Equipment Laboratory of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), Al-Reem Hassan, said that sterilization gates that are used by some institutions are waste of money, have negative public health impacts, and may cause harm to children and people over the age of 60.

She added that many installations started using these gates, and it usually takes between 15 and 20 minutes for a person to sterilize. However, it is not possible to estimate the actual time required for sterilization of clothes, as it depends on the type of fabric that was made of it, and other factors.

She pointed out that there are different types of sterilization gates, some of which can be considered as a conduit for apparently sterilizing clothing or body, including what is provided with temperature detectors, cameras, and an alarm system.

She explained that the positives of the gates are the relative sterilization of clothes, and give the person some comfort. But its drawbacks are more than that, as it may be harmful to the respiratory system, especially if it is used repeatedly daily, in addition to the difficulty of determining the time required to sterilize the clothes, as it does not kill or eliminate the "Covid-19" virus.

She stressed that the unsafe use of sterilization materials is harmful to human health, according to the World Health Organization, as it damages the respiratory system and the eye, and does not eliminate the virus.

Security advisor, Brian Terabi, said that there are procedures that hotel departments must adhere to to protect their visitors from infection, the most important of which is evacuating rooms for 24 hours between a customer and another, and if one of them shows any symptoms, the room should remain blank for 72 hours.

He added that the use of hotel facilities, such as swimming pool, health clubs and fitness halls, should not be allowed, and that its departments should prevent collective food, and limit the use of the hotel's beaches to its visitors only, while applying strict precautionary measures in hotspots, such as the reception area and elevators.

Teraby considered that it is necessary to place restrictions on the ages of the centers' visitors, conduct regular checks for its employees, install thermal cameras, and set guidelines to ensure the achievement of social distance.

15-20

Accurate, time taken to cross the sterilization gate.

The thermal camera is safe ... I am able to monitor the initial symptoms of "Corona".

The unsupported thermal camera produces confusing, out-of-date results.
