Early on Monday morning Sigvard Lundgren woke up in Älvsbyn and released his jack russel dog, a small tuffing, which Sigvard calls him. Sigvard and his wife live for themselves in a summer cottage area, so when the dog never stopped barking, he went out into the yard to entice him. That's when Sigvard discovered moose hair on the balcony.
- At first I thought that god damned, the neighbors have hung up moose skins to dry and that the dog is now soaking down.
But as he followed the trail of moose hair, he assumed that an elk must have fallen in their yard where he found both blood and hair, twenty feet from the bedroom window, and then dragged across the lawn and into the woods. And Sigvard was right. When he examined a grove, 50 to 60 meters from the house, he found a moose cadaver. On the road next to it appeared bear tracks.
- It is not reasonable for a bear to strike a moose in the middle of a built-up area, between me and the neighbor, says Sigvard Lundgren.
Sigvard then came up with the idea of setting up a tile camera to see if the bear would come back. That being said, the night before Tuesday, three bears - a mother with two kids - came back and ate at the moose. Sigvard Lundgren has hunted all his life but never seen bear tracks so close to settlement.
- Everything indicates that the bear is not the least bit afraid of people.
After the incident, he has been in contact with the county administrative board and the police who say they cannot do anything about the matter. It is only during a major incident against people that it can be talked about hunting for protection.

- Well, uncomfortable, of course. However, my wife does not think it is any higher.
