- I would look for deer in the evening and went out to the site. Suddenly I heard how it broke in the forest edge and because I thought it was an elk, I started filming, says Kent Kuivalainen.

When he was going to edit the movie a while later at home in the cottage, he got a shock.

- It wasn't until I saw that it was a bear. It feels both a little scary and a little exciting that it was so close

In the past, the bear has been sighted in Heby and Vittinge.

Looking for a female

According to Mikael Larsson, the National Board of Nature Conservation, it is no wonder that the bear continues to move.

- It's a walking bear, probably a young male. He is looking for his own area to settle in - and a female. He eats wild boars in the area, so he's probably pretty good, ”says Mikael Larsson.

And if the bear chooses to stay in the county?

- Then it's just nice, as long as he doesn't bother with anything - goes on domestic animals or something. In that case, we can help. But we keep a close eye on him thanks to private individuals who report observations.

There are between five and ten bears that settled in the county. Hiking bears usually show up once a year, according to the county administrative board.
