The Quent Lis Laboratory, the medical research arm of the international holding company IHC listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Market, has announced the development of a new tool, which enables high-speed group checks within seconds, allowing the circle of examinations to be expanded in an unprecedented way.

The new technology will enhance the position of the UAE as an international center for research, innovation and technology, at a time when world scientists are racing to reach the fastest and most accurate technologies to examine cases suspected of being infected with the Corona virus, and may enhance the ability to identify carriers of the disease before it becomes contagious and poses a wider risk.

This technology will enable specialists to conduct tests on a large scale, enhancing the ability to track cases and curb disease outbreaks in the workforce.

The Minister of Health and Community Protection, Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad Al Owais, expressed optimism about this discovery, and said: “We are following with interest all innovations and developments related to addressing and early and rapid detection of Corona virus, and we are open to all efforts that can be used to prevent the spread of the virus, and health officials are following Continued (Quiz Lays) experiments are progressing to test this equipment, and we are optimistic after testing the effectiveness of the new device. This is an effective technological innovation that can provide better protection for our society. ”

He expressed his hope that this development will contribute to strengthening the national efforts made in this framework, especially as our leadership attaches technological and knowledge development great importance, particularly in the field of scientific research related to the health sectors.

For his part, said the leader of the team of researchers in the laboratory, Dr. Prumad Kumar, who has been studying and analyzing during the past few months the changes in the structure of blood cells infected with the virus: «The tool that uses electron microscopy will allow tests to be performed on a mass scale, and allow the results to be issued within seconds».

In fact, the laser-based DPI technology, which is based on optical phase inclusion, can recognize the virus within seconds, in addition to being easy to use, non-surgical, and low-cost, and the device is suitable for use in hospitals and public places, such as cinemas And shopping centers, with a little practical training, we think it will be a major paradigm shift in tackling the spread of the Coruna virus. ”

On the diagnostic system, Kumar said that the advanced artificial intelligence (AI) model in image analysis expects the results of each image quickly, according to a very accurate scale, and this is crucial, especially in large-scale testing programs.

QuantLace has used the technical knowledge of G42, a leader in artificial intelligence and cloud computing, to further enhance the laser program in a way that exceeds human capacity.

Kumar explained the course of the tests. He said: “During the first phase, which included 1000 people, we made some adjustments to the tests, then we applied them to the rest of the tests, and the process went through several stages, all of which took place through direct coordination with the authorities responsible for health affairs.”

"With regard to screening at an early stage, DPI can detect the virus as soon as the blood cells are infected, and our goal is to ultimately reach the maximum precision in the results," he said.
