INTERVIEW

The Directorate General for the Repression of Fraud (DGCCRF), proceeded on Monday to recall bottles of hydroalcoholic gel of the brand Symex, sold under the name under the name of "Hand Sanitizer". Available in pharmacies and on the internet, these products actually have too little alcohol to properly disinfect and eliminate the coronavirus. "The problem is the illusion of security", explains to Europe 1 Loïc Tanguy, director of cabinet at the DGCCRF.

The man, however, calls for vigilance. "For consumers, we must ensure that we have a biocidal gel, that is to say a gel that is made to eliminate viruses," explains Loïc Tanguy. "If you are dealing with a product that is only cleaning, you will not be effective enough. You should also not hesitate to ask your merchant if the gel is a biocidal gel, which will protect you from viruses. "
