NorrlandsNavet is a knowledge center that will identify knowledge needs for companies in Norrland. This is in order to then be able to develop these skills and thus strengthen the competitiveness of the companies, LTU writes in a press release.

- Ingvar wanted our entire country to live. With the NorrlandsNavet, the foundation provides the conditions for small and medium-sized companies to identify their development needs together with Luleå University of Technology, says Lena Fritzén, CEO of the Kamprad Family Foundation.

In the midst of the corona crisis

Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn, head of Luleå University of Technology, believes that the initiative will start in the midst of the corona pandemic:

- The fact that the new project starts in the middle of the corona crisis presents new challenges and opportunities, but it also means that the project becomes even more important for the region.

Part of the venture

In January earlier this year, the foundation agreed to invest a total of SEK 670 million on education and research in northern Sweden, with Gävle as the southernmost point.
