Members of the Federal National Council approved, on Tuesday evening, a federal bill on "on public health", through electronic voting in its second "precautionary" sessions held via remote video conferencing technology.


The draft law included a package of penalties for violators of the rules and regulations prescribed therein, up to a fine of 300,000 dirhams for anyone who supplies educational institutions with foods that do not comply with health requirements and standards.


According to the project, it is punishable by a fine of no less than 10,000 dirhams and no more than 50 thousand dirhams, whoever violates the requirements of healthy food, the requirements of the nutritional data card for healthy food, the requirements of health food supplements, herbal products, and the rules.


The draft law also stipulates that a fine of no less than 50 thousand dirhams and no more than 300 thousand dirhams shall be imposed on anyone who supplies any educational institution or the like with foods that are in compliance with the health requirements and standards that must be met, and the law imposes a fine of not less than 10 thousand dirhams One dirham and not more than 50 thousand dirhams against every responsible person in the place of providing or selling these foods in the educational institution or its equivalent if he is aware of this.


Anyone who publishes or broadcasts a health advertisement in violation of the rules and requirements of the health ads system shall be penalized with a fine of no less than 50 thousand dirhams and not more than 150 thousand dirhams.
