- Pandemic: Coronavirus deaths in Italy drop below 100 in last 24 hours
Deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Italy have increased to 162 this Tuesday, compared to 99 yesterday (below a hundred for the first time since March 9), as reported by Civil Protection. New daily infections have also rebounded, 813 today compared to 451 on Monday.
The total number of deaths in the country since the pandemic began is 32,169, the third with the most deaths after the United States and the United Kingdom. People who have contracted the disease at some point are 226,699 , the sixth position in the world in cases behind the US, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom and Brazil.
In Lombardia, the region most affected by Covid-19, new cases of the virus have also rebounded, 462 more than yesterday (with 175) . The deceased in the northern region are 54 today, when they were 24 on Monday.
Italy advanced yesterday in de-escalation measures after the health emergency, with the reopening of practically all its commercial activity.
