The Route d'Occitanie will be the first major French race, from August 1 to 4, after the period of non-competition due to the pandemic, according to the calendar published Tuesday afternoon by the International Cycling Union (UCI).
In addition to the Dauphiné, WorldTour race (world level), three stage races are on the program for the month of August before the start of the Tour de France scheduled for August 29 in Nice: Route d'Occitanie, Tour de l'Ain and Tour from Limousin.
The UCI, which published the WorldTour recovery calendar on May 5, has approved the 2020 calendar for other international races. While specifying that they are subject to "continuous assessment according to developments in the world health situation".
The international federation added that it would, if necessary, "make the necessary adjustments to the WorldTour calendars" (men and women) at the time of the next meetings of the Professional Cycling Council (PAC) and the UCI steering committee June 9-10.
