Al Suwaidi added that the Dubai Police Academy has joined the supervisory convoy of state institutions that have proven great efficiency in flexible handling of the Corona crisis, pointing out that the Commander in Chief of Dubai Police stressed the necessity of the cooperation of the academic and candidates students and university students with their colleagues in the police stations in field missions, and the students did not hesitate to Do their homework to the fullest.
He pointed out that the students of the academy receive daily training in the framework of their studies at the academy to ensure their fitness, as well as qualify them psychologically and scientifically on how to manage crises and field interaction in the streets, but no one expected that conditions put them to the test at an early age to implement new tasks even for professional policemen, Stressing that they dazzled everyone, and they were a model of commitment and perseverance without looking at them doing volunteer work.
Al Suwaidi explained that 330 candidate students participated in the first lines of defense since the beginning of the crisis, under the supervision of the competent department of the General Command of Dubai Police.
He pointed out that the field tasks in which they participate include ensuring that the public adheres to the restrictions on movement during the national sterilization program, and monitoring violators of precautionary instructions and procedures such as wearing masks, social spacing and the number of car passengers, indicating that they are performing their role in a humane manner and participate in educating members of the public in an elegant way And not a single complaint was received against them.
He explained that they were initially subjected to focused awareness of how to maintain their safety and adhere to preventive measures to protect themselves and the means of self-sterilization in cooperation with the Dubai Health Center, pointing out that they are constantly followed up with health in light of their spread with colleagues in all areas of jurisdiction, including areas of worker concentration such as Al-Qouz Industrial Area, and only two injuries were recorded among students and a similar recovery.
Al Suwaidi affirmed his pride in the role played by the candidates of the academy and its students, and even the non-Emirati students who had been compelled by the pandemic to leave their home countries took the same role there, and they are followed up and made sure of their safety through the distance education system that the Academy has maintained since the crisis began.
He pointed out that the academy was also keen to take its female candidates as a follow-up to the field without participating in assignments due to its nature and appointments during the night period.
Field participation in addition to the study
The Director of Dubai Police Academy, Brigadier Dr. Ghaith Al-Suwaidi revealed that the Dubai Police Academy launched the distance education system within three days, specifically on the ninth of last March, from announcing the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education to prohibit students from attending the campuses of universities and educational institutions, pointing out that participation The field in the first line of defense did not prohibit students from completing their studies.
He said that the Academy launched two initiatives: the first in the name of "your professor with you" and the other "Najibak", to provide all students with support around the clock, indicating that the students' times were distributed between study and field work in the first line of defense.
He added that the distance study extended to the master's students, and 15 theses were discussed remotely since the beginning of the crisis, and preparations are under way to discuss the first doctoral thesis.
