The situation with the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 in Moscow is still a serious threat to city residents, so there is no reason to talk about the possibility of permitting walks and sports on the street. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, announced this on the television channel "Russia 1".

“This will be possible when we see that the number of deaths from coronavirus decreases, but does not increase, when we have seriously ill patients in the hospital, when every day we identify not tens of new patients, but tens or hundreds, and maybe even less, ”said Sobyanin.

At the same time, from Monday, May 25, multifunctional centers for the provision of public services (MFC) will resume work in Moscow.

Also, according to Sobyanin, Moscow managed to avoid the humanitarian catastrophe that occurred in many cities in Europe and the United States. He also noted that thanks to the responsibility of the townspeople, the Moscow healthcare system was able to overcome the peak load predicted for mid-May.

“This was a huge stress: foreseeing such a future, to calculate it, to prepare, it, of course, was a terrible forecast. And the fact that he did not come true is a merit, first of all, of Muscovites, who very responsibly approached the requirements that exist in the city, those requests and recommendations that exist, ”the mayor added.

He also once again called on citizens to comply with the rules established in connection with the epidemic, since only this can lead to the exit from the regime of restrictive measures.

“We need not just to be patient with patience, we must clearly understand the terrible threat that hangs over our close ones, relatives, especially the elderly. You just need to feel this threat and act accordingly to the threat that is, which really exists, it is not far-fetched. Drive up to any Moscow clinic, stand next to the front desk and you will see dozens of fast cars that bring people. Go to the intensive care unit - and everything will become clear. The situation is not so simple and far from ideal, ”Sobyanin explained.

In addition, the Minister of the Government of Moscow, the head of the main control department, Yevgeny Danchikov, reported that since the beginning of the high-alert mode, more than 54 thousand cases of violations of the self-isolation regime have been registered in the city, including 885 cases for May 18. In addition, almost 73 thousand cases of violations by citizens with a positive test for coronavirus or SARS have already been recorded.

“Observance of home quarantine by sick citizens is a critical condition for slowing down the spread of the virus. That is why the city authorities pay special attention to control in this area, various technical means are used to instantly establish the fact of violation. These methods are unpopular among the population and cause a lot of criticism, but I want to convey a key thought to Muscovites: the goal of introducing such tools is not to fine as many citizens as possible, but to protect the city population from the risk of infection, ”RIA Novosti quotes Danchikova.

Note that according to recent data, 299,941 cases of coronavirus have been detected in Russia. Since the beginning of the epidemic, 76,130 people have recovered. 2837 deaths (0.95%) from complications that developed against the background of COVID-19 and associated diseases were recorded.

The leader in the number of detected cases of coronavirus infection in Russia is Moscow - 149,607. Over the past 24 hours, 3545 new cases have been found in the capital. At the same time, 31,496 patients were discharged for recovery, while 1,651 people died from complications associated with coronavirus and related diseases.

Meanwhile, the director of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor Vasily Akimkin noted that the level of circulation of coronavirus infection COVID-19 among the population of Moscow over the past week fell four to five times - from 12-14% to 2.6%.

Recall that in Moscow until May 31, restrictive measures introduced because of the coronavirus are in effect. At the same time, industrial and construction enterprises resumed work on May 12. On the same day in the capital, it became mandatory to wear a mask and gloves at work, trade objects, as well as in public transport and taxis. Moreover, the fine for violation of the mask regime will amount to 5 thousand rubles.
