The Government has authorized some of the car demonstrations promoted by Vox for this Saturday, May 23, in which the resignation of the Government will be demanded. Only the Government Delegations in Catalonia and Castilla y León have expressly prohibited them, while in the Community of Madrid what to do is still being studied.

In the particular case of the capital, which claims to be the epicenter of the protest and which would have the presence of the party's national leaders, the decision is still under study and a response is not expected until Tuesday or Wednesday. , according to sources consulted by EL MUNDO.

Despite the state of alarm and instructions for home confinement for public health reasons, Santiago Abascal's party understands that it will be able to carry out a majority of the demonstrations by car planned in the provincial capitals. Where obstacles have arisen, such as Catalonia or Castilla y León, Vox will resort to the Superior Courts of Justice , so the decision will end in their hands. If the same scenario is repeated in Madrid, it will also be resorted to.

At a press conference after the Executive meeting, Jorge Buxadé has announced that they already have express resolutions in favor of holding these vehicle caravans in the provinces of Cáceres, Cantabria, Castellón, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Granada, Guadalajara or La Coruña . And that in the rest of the places, except Catalonia and Castilla y León, they have not said anything.

"In all those places where 72 hours have elapsed since the request and have not responded, it is understood that it is authorized by positive silence," explained the national spokesperson for Vox, who stressed that while a demonstration request is not rejected or if a modification is required, it is interpreted that it can continue.

This, in effect, is so. The problem is that at least in the case of the Community of Madrid the deadlines are being different, so it cannot be concluded yet that it is already authorized. A few days after his writing, Vox had to present a modification of the route of the march. This, according to sources from the Government Delegation in Madrid, means that the deadlines are activated again from scratch.

This temporary readjustment means that the Government Delegation in Madrid is officially authorized in the "study phase" and pending a possible pronouncement. The state of alarm would not prohibit the holding of demonstrations but they could be unauthorized, as has already happened in Catalonia or Castilla y León, for reasons of public health. As it happens, both autonomous communities share with Madrid the condition of having a part of their territory in Phase 0 of the de-escalation. In other words, these regions are in a worse epidemic situation than the rest of the country, where in some places they have been expressly authorized.

Vox is counting on being able to hold it in Madrid and pressing judicially to do so where they have now been banned. For this reason, Buxadé has welcomed the fact that next Saturday, at 12 noon, the "caravans of freedom" will be developed, whose objective is to demand the resignation of the Government and protest against the state of alarm.

Meanwhile, Vox expresses its enthusiasm for how Madrid street protests have already spread to the rest of Spain and are warming up engines for their motorcade. "A Spain that stands up, that shouts freedom and that is not only Madrid or a single neighborhood," stressed Buxadé.

The political vice president of Vox has expressed that there is an "indignation" that runs through Spain and has called attention to the fact that the left lives "so far from reality and that it does not find out."
