Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt became a father for the first time, his partner Kasi Bennett having given birth to a baby girl, local press said on Monday.

Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness confirmed the happy event on social media. "Congratulations to our sprint legend Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett on the arrival of their little girl!", He tweeted.

According to local media reports, the couple's daughter was born on Sunday.

Bolt, 33, had revealed on social media in March that he was going to become a father, warning, not without humor, the future contenders to stay away from his daughter. "Any man! Any boy! Don't play with me!" Warned the eight-time Olympic champion.

Bolt, 100m and 200m world record holder, retired from sport in 2017 after a decade of unrivaled dominance in the men's sprint.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, he became the first athlete in history to double the 100/200 m for the third time in a row.
