A 26-year-old man was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Béziers criminal court. On June 12, 2018, in Agde, this Ardéchois had tried all evening, in vain, to get closer to a young woman aged 22 years old from Seine-et-Marne. What the establishment's video surveillance images had highlighted.

At 4.30 am, he had followed the victim, who was heavily alcoholic, into the toilet before subjecting him to various sexual acts. Arrested at dawn by the police from the Agde police station, he was presented to the Béziers prosecution on June 14, 2018 after his police custody. He had been charged with the rape count by a person in a state of drunkenness, then placed in pre-trial detention.

At the helm, he recognizes that his victim was not in a condition to consent to a sexual act

After denying the rape and ensuring throughout the investigation that the victim was consenting, he admitted before the criminal court that the victim was probably not in a condition to consent to the acts he subjected him to.

In addition to the seven years of imprisonment for sexual assault (the rape was ultimately not retained), the court also sentenced him to socio-judicial follow-up for five years when he was released from prison, with an order for care. If this follow-up is not respected, he could return to another two years in detention. He was also ordered to pay 12,000 euros to the victim.
