SVT News East visited the archive and found film images from the first flight in Linköping in 1940 and from Saab's facility in Trollhättan.

Saab's first self-constructed aircraft lifted for the first time on May 18, 1940. By then, the Second World War was in its second year and the Swedish Air Force was in great need of reinforcement.
