The distribution of national newspapers was disrupted on Monday in several regions, the strike of press distributors entering its second week.

Newspaper distribution could not be ensured in Marseille or Lyon, according to AFP offices. The Syndicat du Livre-CGT confirmed that deposits were blocked on Monday morning.

Presstalis employees protest against the liquidation of two subsidiaries of the highly indebted and main press distributor in France, SAD and Soprocom, responsible for distributing newspapers and magazines.

Their liquidation was ordered Friday, May 15 by the Commercial Court of Paris, while the central organization of Presstalis was placed in receivership with continued activity.

These subsidiaries and their 512 employees serve nearly 10,000 points of sale out of the 22,000 in the territory, from Ajaccio to Lille via Bordeaux, Toulouse, Rennes and Nancy.

The L'Equipe newspaper was only available on Monday in the Paris region. The horse racing newspaper Paris Courses indicated on its side, on Twitter to have been distributed "only in Paris, in the Paris region and on a part of the North".

L'Humanité explained on its site that "the employees (of the distribution) and their unions have decided, rightly, to strike which will deprive you of the paper editions of L'Humanité and L'Humanité Sunday for several days. You can, however, read them on our digital platform. "

"It is illusory to believe that the workers of the book will let themselves be done. It is our job, we do not want to lose it, and we will not give up," launched in an interview with L'Humanité Guillaume Dumoulin, delegate union (SGLCE-CGT) of the SAD.

"No one has measured, beyond even the profession, to what point democracy is under attack. There, what is happening is that they are killing all the little ones; will only remain the big ones, "continued Guillaume Dumoulin.

The main structure of Presstalis is not saved, however: the daily newspapers' cooperative, whose (unique) offer has been accepted by the court, has yet to convince magazine groups to join so that it is viable.
