During the containment, the slowdown in international deliveries and the increase in demand prompted supermarkets to call on local producers to ensure the crowding of their shelves.

We went to meet farmers, breeders, distributors and met with European politicians to take a closer look at how agriculture played a key role during the crisis - and how it must evolve to face the challenges of the future.

Our guests :

- Damien Greffin , head of FNSEA in Ile-de-France, the first French agricultural union

- François-Xavier Bellamy , French MEP, EPP

- Ernest Urtasun , Spanish MEP, Group of the Greens

Our reports:

- In France, confinement has caused a serious shortage of labor for the agricultural sector. The prefecture of Seine-et-Marne offered refugees from the department to come to the aid of farmers. A way to support their integration and relieve farmers. A report by Karim Yahiaoui and Achraf Abid

- In Portugal, hit by an exodus of the rural population for several years, the health crisis has highlighted the importance of the agricultural sector, one of the only ones which continues to produce when the rest of the economy is at stop. While we expect a massive rise in unemployment, agriculture may well be a promising outlet. A report by Anaïs Guérard.

A program presented by Caroline de Camaret.

Produced by Mathilde Bénézet, Isabelle Romero, Perrine Desplats and Luke Brown

Filmed by Stéphane Bodenne and Johan Bodin
